YOU CAN HELP RIGA RESTORE THE MAJESTIC TONE OF THE BELLS AT THE CATHEDRAL OF SAINT JAMES.

The Cathedral of Saint James has four bells. Three are located inside the tower, while one—known as Saint Blaise—is mounted outside the tower. Currently, the bells are not regularly rung. To ensure they produce their proper sound, the following work needs to be done: Restoring the bell fittings, manufacturing new steel bell tongues (similar to the historical ones), creating solid oak heads for three of the bells according to historical models. All bells will be fitted with new electric motors and a unified control system from the cathedral’s altar area.

A total of €17,000 is needed for this purpose.

Your donation will help our city regain the ancient resonance of the Cathedral of Saint James’s bells.
